The Victory

Each day, week, month and year that a woman proclaims that she is clean, sober and drug free… that is a victory. Each time a woman explains her class schedule, shares her grades, and plans for her graduation… that is a victory. When a woman is persistent in complying with the requirements of CPS and proves herself a worthy mother to the satisfaction of the courts, and successfully regains custody of her children… that is a victory. Today many women have made the decision to give back, to serve as peer mentors, and to perpetuate the awareness that these indeed are victories. And finally, every time a woman becomes gainfully employed, is able to support her family in a stable environment, and has become a quality member of society, the cycle is complete… these are all reflections of the faces and voices of victory.
